This is our first of many food reviews of the gorgeous cuisine of Dream that is to come. Today we are starting with a lovely homely dish, something simple but perfect.

We are making our way back into Grandma’s kitchen to sample the most perfect and delectable slice of apple pie Dream has to offer.

MeeMaw’s Famous Apple Pie served from Chrome Cowboy, a rustic cowboy western style bar on the outskirts of Sandy Shores offering comfort food, some non-alcoholic beverages, with a perfect selection of specialty curated alcoholic drinks.

Opening its doors in November of 2025, Chrome Cowboy has been owned and operated by the power couple that is Ghost Malone and Hollister Somerset for its entire life. Chrome has gone through a couple of menu changes throughout its existence but one staple that has never left (And hopefully never will!) is ‘MeeMaw’s Famous Apple Pie’, a gorgeous creation of shortcrust pastry, locally sourced apples, fresh caramel and hand whipped cream, it truly is a staple worthy of its name.

Chrome Cowboy boasts a unique décor and ambiance to rest of the city, it's pure wooden exterior and old fashioned interior, it really offers a special vibe to it's customers.

The experience

As soon as the plate came out and the smell hit my nose I was reminded of cold winter nights back home, wrapped in a blanket, watching movies with a slice of apple pie smothered in vanilla custard, pure nostalgic joy.

My first spoonful was pure bliss, the buttery, crispy pastry mixed with the smooth, delectable filling, I simply do not have words to describe the feelings I had. The cream is so light and fluffy and makes a perfect partner to the pie.

This dish is the definition of a textural experience, the crisp from the pastry, the soft chunks of apple to the airy cream, it has been curated and refined into a paragon.

When the plate was returned all that remained was a smear of cream and a collection of crumbs, MeeMaw's pie is the kind of dessert that justified in it's legendary, closely guarded recipe. The pie alone is more then enough of a reason to find yourself returning to Chrome Cowboy time and time again.

The final verdict

If it is not evident enough this pie is a spectacle, it is a master in it's field. The recipe, the making and the cooking have been perfected into what is now one of my top picks for food in the city.

Chrome Cowboy has truly brought their A game with this recipe.
